A Little About Me:
I thought I’d share a little about myself as I join the team here at Life Recovery Consulting. My name is Rachel. I am a recent graduate from MidAmerica Nazarene University. For the past six years I have worked with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism in a variety of settings. Through that experience I came to realize that in order for lasting change to occur the whole family system needs to be involved. I also realized that the family members who were not struggling with the disability were faced with their own unique challenges and struggles. I greatly enjoy working with young children and their families as they approach the diagnosis of autism and what it looks like for their family moving forward.
Another area that I feel drawn to work is with teens who are struggling with anxiety and depression. As this world gets progressively more complex teenagers face more and more unique struggles and challenges. The anxiety and depression rates are high and I take a holistic approach to these issues. Through the use of mindfulness and other proven therapy methods anxiety and depression can be reduced. I currently have my provisional license as a professional counselor in MO and I am under the supervision of Jennifer Coleman, LPC.
